Summary on "Critical Thinking: The Soul of communication"

Based on the excerpt, it is a known fact that there is a profound interrelationship between communication and critical thinking. As mentioned on the website, "If communication is defined as a meaningful exchange of information, thoughts, and feelings between two living creatures, critical thinking is the engine that provides this meaning." From this statement, we can further derive that the art of communication and critical thinking could be systematized into one coherent skill. As a matter of fact, without the clarity of thought from critical thinking, effective communication could potentially be hindered. A leader must exercise these skills as problems will constantly arise, sometimes in the most unpredictable manner, testing how well they respond under pressure. A leader can compose himself with good critical thinking, which allows him to generate effective solutions. Subsequently, he has to communicate effectively to relay the plan to his team for execution. Thus, it is clear that both skills are necessary for a leader to perform to the best of his abilities in times of adversity.
